Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for grade 180 enamelled right angle copper windings with a single coating based on a modifiable polyesterimide resin. However, the winding must possess the chemical homogeneity of the resin prototype and meet all specified wire requirements. Grade 180 is a thermal rating that requires a minimum temperature index of 180 and a thermal shock temperature of not less than 200 degrees Celsius. The temperature is not necessarily the recommended temperature at which the wire will operate and is determined by a variety of factors, including the type of equipment involved. The ranges of nominal conductor diameters covered by this standard are as follows:  ——Width: 2.0 mm to 16.0 mm - Thickness: 0.80 mm and above 5.60 mm Class 1 and 2 wires are included in this standard and apply to the entire conductor range. The sum of specified widths and thicknesses and specified width/thickness ratios are given in IEC 60317-0-2. .?
