This standard specifies the performance parameters and inspection methods of mechanical impact testing machines and provides guidelines for describing their characteristics. This standard ensures that potential users of a particular impact testing machine are provided with an adequate description of the characteristics of the machine and provides guidance for selecting that type of machine. This standard complies with the relevant parts of KS C IEC 60068. Applies to impact test machines and diagnostic test machines used for experiments or to evaluate the effects of typical impact conditions in service environments. The purpose of impact testing is to determine the vulnerability of the machine or the deterioration of certain performance. It can also be used as a means of quality control or to determine the structural standard state of test specimens. Machines used for simulation of earthquakes, sonic booms, explosions and internal ruptures, explosion tests, metal processing, and forming operations Not covered in this standard. Several techniques for generating the required impact motion are discussed. Simple pulses and complex transients can occur. Simulation of transient phenomena is possible by controlling tests with specific impulse response spectra.
