This standard applies to cases where full penetration welds of ferritic steel with a thickness of 6 mm or more are manually subjected to an ultrasonic flaw detection test (hereinafter referred to as flaw detection) using a basic ultrasonic flaw detector (hereinafter referred to as flaw detector) using the pulse reflection method. It specifies the method of detecting flaws and measuring their location and dimensions. However, it does not apply to joint welds during the steel pipe manufacturing process.?
