Network measurements are methods for determining the volume or mass flow or the average values and distribution of other physical quantities of liquids or gases in usually large flow cross sections. They are used - primarily as part of acceptance tests and tests for proof of guarantee - for example in flue gas and air ducts, in hydroelectric power plants or in cooling water systems of thermal power plants. Network measurements usually have to be carried out in on-site systems or on large test benches. The measuring devices and measuring devices used must be technically designed to suit the difficult operating conditions.*www.vdi.de/2640
