The guideline describes the requirements, designs and functions of load-carrying equipment on cranes and industrial trucks for handling containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers (freight containers) in sea and inland ports as well as in combined cargo transport. The load-carrying device is very important within this process. In order to guarantee a trouble-free process when handling freight containers, high dimensional accuracy of the containers and the load-carrying devices is required.*www.vdi.de/2687
