Electrolyte solutions are used as active media in electrochemical removal processes. During machining, they are contaminated by, among other things, the dissolved workpiece material and their effectiveness is therefore changed. The effectiveness of the electrolytes is characterized by physical and chemical variables (e.g. concentration, pH value, specific conductivity, temperature, etc.), which must be kept constant within certain limits to ensure uniform processing results (e.g. surface quality, accuracy). The document deals with the treatment of electrolytes during mold removal during the process to maintain effectiveness as well as with the disposal of used electrolytes and resulting wastewater or sludge.*www.vdi.de/3401
