This European Standard concerns on-site transportable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) equipment (manual or portable laboratory) and specifies a screening method for the determination of the elemental composition of waste for in situ verification. Portable XRF spectrometers are used for rapid, exploratory analysis of pasty or solid materials. The absence or presence of specific elements appears at the qualitative level with an indication of the concentration level.
