- This standard specifies the radiation characteristics, electrical characteristics, environmental characteristics and inspection methods for these characteristics that the low-background α measuring instrument should have. This standard applies to instruments that measure weak alpha activity or surface emissivity indoors, and also applies to the part of multipurpose instruments that measure weak alpha activity. This standard does not apply to instruments that measure alpha energy spectrum.
