Scope

This part of is 20283 provides guidance for the instrumentation, measurement and data processing procedures necessary to obtain reliable vibration data on ship propulsion systems. It also gives guidelines for the application of specific measurement techniques, which are customary and adequate for measuring mechanical vibrations on the propulsion systems of ocean-going and river vessels.
