This standard specifies the method for determining the oil repellency of fabrics using a series of liquid hydrocarbons with different surface tensions. This standard applies to all kinds of fabrics and their products. This standard is intended to provide guidance on oil pick-up resistance. The standard can give a rough oil repellency grade, usually the higher the oil repellency grade, the better the resistance of the sample to oily materials, especially the adhesion of liquid oily substances. This standard is especially suitable for comparing the oil repellency effect of the same base fabric after being finished with different finishing agents. This standard can also be used to determine the effect of washing and dry cleaning treatments on the oil repellency of samples. This standard is not suitable for evaluating the penetration resistance of oily chemicals.
