- This standard specifies the HPLC method for the determination of dehydroacetic acid and its salts (calculated as dehydroacetic acid) in cosmetics. This standard applies to the determination of dehydroacetic acid and its salts (calculated as dehydroacetic acid) in cosmetics such as creams, lotions, shampoos, lotions, gels, and lipsticks. The method detection limit of this standard: 0.002% for wax-based creams, lotions, shampoos, and lipsticks; 0.001% for water-based lotions such as lotion and gel water. Quantitative limit: 0.006% for creams, lotions, shampoos, and lipstick wax-based products; 0.003% for water-based products such as lotion and gel water.
