Scope

This standard specifies the headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of dioxane residues in cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of residual dioxane in cream, lotion and shampoo cosmetics. The detection limit of this standard for dioxane is 0.8 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 2.5 mg/kg.
