Scope: This standard specifies the test method for the determination of vinyl acetate content in ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVAC). The test methods specified in this standard include benchmark methods and test methods. Among them, the reference method is used for the calibration of the test method of vinyl acetate content in ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. After the test method specified in this standard is calibrated with the reference method, if the repeatability of the test results is acceptable, the test method can be used to determine the vinyl acetate content. The infrared spectroscopy method in the test method specified in this standard is suitable for EVAC samples with a vinyl acetate content of not less than 3%.
