This standard specifies the static headspace-gas chromatography method for the determination of volatile esters in rice wine. This standard is applicable to the determination of ethyl formate, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, is amyl acetate and ethyl hexanoate in rice wine. The detection limits (mg/L) of this standard method are: 0.2 for ethyl formate; 0.2 for ethyl acetate; 0.1 for butanol acetate; 0.4 for is amyl acetate; and 0.6 for ethyl hexanoate.
