This part of IEC 62271 applies to procedures for handling SF6 during installation, commis ioning, normal or abnormal operation, and end-of-life dis osal of high-voltage equipment .These procedures are considered minimum requirements to ensure the safety of personnel working with SF6 (see Annex B) and to minimize the release of SF6 to the environment. This standard also applies generally to gas mixtures containing SF6. The particularities of their handling are covered in Appendix J.
