This part of is 13164 provides general guidelines for the collection, packaging and transport of water samples of all types, for the measurement of radon 222 activity concentration. The measurement methods are covered by two categories: a) direct measurement of the water sample, without phase transfer (see is 13164-2); b) indirect measurement involving the transfer of radon 222 from the aqueous phase to another phase (see l 'is 13164-3).The test methods can be implemented in the laboratory or on site. It is the responsibility of the laboratory to ensure the suitability of the test method to the sample.
