Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of packing for evaporative cooling (also called "wet curtain") (hereinafter referred to as "packing"). This standard applies to paper evaporative cooling fillers used in air handling systems and appliances for the purpose of evaporative cooling (or humidification). Fillers made of other non-metallic materials can be implemented by reference.
