- This standard specifies the detection method and quality assessment of steel melt welding T-shaped joints using the A-type pulse reflection method for manual ultrasonic testing of metal structures and equipment welded structural parts in the power industry. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic testing of non-austenitic steel fusion welded T-joints with a wing plate thickness of not less than 6mm and a web thickness of not less than 8mm. It is also applicable to tube sheets, cross joints and T-joint fillet welds of pipes with a diameter greater than 500mm. of ultrasonic testing.
