This International Standard specifies test methods for evaluating the durability, reliability and safety of fluid collectors. In addition, this International Standard contains test methods for the description of fluid collectors in terms of their thermal performance, ie the thermal performance of covered and uncovered fluid collectors in steady state and under quasi-dynamic conditions and the thermal performance of covered and uncovered air collectors (open and closed circuit). This International Standard also applies to hybrid collectors that produce heat and electricity. However, it does not cover electrical safety characteristics or other special characteristics related to electricity generation. This International Standard also applies to collectors that use external power sources for normal operation and/or safety-related purposes. This International Standard is not applicable to collectors where the heat storage is an integral part of the collector, so that the process in the collector cannot be separated from the process of heat storage, as may be necessary, for example, to make measurements relating to these two processes .
