Scope

This procedure is applicable to the initial calibration, subsequent calibration and in-use inspection of the flow proportional counter total α and total β measuring instruments. This procedure does not apply to the verification of low-background α and β measuring instruments and liquid scintillation counters of solid scintillation or semiconductor type detectors.
