- This standard specifies the method for screening cobalt dichloride content in silica gel, polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene using a wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. This standard is applicable to the determination of cobalt and chlorine content in silica gel, polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene. The lower detection limit of cobalt and chlorine content is 10 mg/kg. This standard is applicable to the concentration range of the elements to be measured as shown in Table 1.
