- This standard specifies a method for the determination of residual monomers and other volatile low molecular weight compounds in raw rubber using dynamic headspace (thermal desorption)-capillary gas chromatography, including a general method applicable to all types of raw rubber and two methods for specific types of raw rubber (Appendices A and B). This standard is applicable to the determination of residual monomers, solvents and low molecular weight compounds with boiling points between butane and dodecane in raw rubber. The lower limit of determination of this standard is 1 μg/g.
