EN ISO 14238:2013 Soil quality - Biological methods - Determination of nitrogen mineralization and nitrification in soils and the influence of chemicals on these processes
This International Standard specifies laboratory methods for the measurement of mineralization and nitrification of nitrogen by soil microorganisms. For studies to assess soil properties and the effects of contaminants, a method is specified that measures the degree and extent of N mineralization in soil of known or unknown quality. For the investigation of the potential toxicity of chemicals on N mineralization in soil, a simple procedure is given that enables the assessment of the effect of individual chemicals and provides a basis for comparing the toxicities of different chemicals.
