This part of ISO 15548 specifies the performance characteristics of sensors and associated fasteners and provides procedures for their measurement and verification. The assessment of these parameters enables a precise description and comparability of eddy current testing devices. By carefully selecting the parameters, a reproducible and effective eddy current testing system can be designed for specific applications. When using accessories, they should be characterized according to the principles of this part of ISO 15548. This part of ISO 15548 does not contain provisions for the scope of verification nor for the acceptance criteria of the parameters. These are included in the application documents.
