This European Standard specifies the reference methods used for initial type testing and in case of dis ute for the determination of the density and water absorption coefficient of common and lightweight aggregates. Other methods may be used for other purposes, such as controlling aggregate production, provided that appropriate correlations with the reference method have been establis ed. Some of these other methods are also described in this Standard for practical purposes.
