Scope: The tests specified in this standard are based on bidirectional and bipolar high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems consisting of sending and receiving terminals respectively connected to the AC system. This standard applies to the system test of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) facilities where the sending end and the receiving end are respectively connected to the AC system. For back-to-back systems, test requirements and acceptance criteria should be agreed, while multi-terminal systems and voltage source converters are not included in this standard. For unipolar high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, except for bipolar tests, this standard applies. Additional test items proposed by specific projects not included in this standard to verify special functions or characteristics can be added according to technical specifications. This standard is only used as a system test guide for HVDC facilities to guide users on how to make commissioning plans. The test descriptions in this standard may not be applicable to all projects, but should be considered as a test range. Therefore, it is recommended that the project construction party give priority to establishing various test plans in accordance with this standard, and at the same time clarify in advance the relationship between various tasks/tests among participating units (such as: users, suppliers, manufacturers, operators and purchasers, etc.) responsibility.
