This part of GB/T 15120 specifies the requirements for embossed characters on identification cards. Embossed characters are used for data transfer, which can be done either by embossing or by visual or machine-readable means. This section considers both human and machine aspects and clarifies the minimum requirements. The purpose of this section is to provide a guideline that a card should follow. In this section does not take into account the number of uses, if any, is based on previous card test experience. Non-compliance with the specified criteria should be negotiated between the parties involved. ISO/IEC 10373-1 specifies the test procedures for checking whether the card complies with the parameters specified in this part.
