Scope: This standard provides guidance for the development of standards and specifications for the recovery (including recycling) of plastic waste. This standard provides a number of options for the recycling of plastic waste for both pre-consumer and post-consumer products (as shown in the diagram in Appendix A). This standard establishes quality requirements that should be considered at all steps in the recycling process and provides general recommendations for material standards, test standards and product specifications. Therefore, the processing stages, requirements, recommendations and terms appearing in this standard have general applicability.
