This part of ISO 12312 applies to all non-prescription sunglasses (with zero lenses) and clip-on lenses for general use, including driving and road use, intended for protection against solar radiation. Appendix A provides information about the use of sunscreen filters. Requirements for unmounted lenses used as replacement or replacement filters are given in Appendix B. This part of ISO 12312 does not apply to: a) eye protection against radiation from artificial light sources, e.g. B. from solariums; b) eye protection devices for certain sports (e.g. ski goggles or other types); c) Sunglasses prescribed for medical reasons to attenuate solar radiation; d) Products designed to look directly into the sun, e.g. B. are intended for observing an annular or total solar eclipse.
