This standard specifies the detection method for the content of polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in automotive materials. "X-ray fluorescence spectrometry" is suitable for screening and quickly determining the bromine content in automotive materials using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. "Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method" is suitable for the determination of polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in automotive materials using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method.
