This standard specifies the detection method for mercury content in automotive materials. "X-ray fluorescence spectrometry" is suitable for screening and quickly determining the mercury content in automotive materials. "Cold atomic absorption spectrometry, atomic fluorescence spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emis ion spectrometry or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry" are suitable for the quantitative determination of mercury content in automotive materials. The "direct mercury measurement method" is suitable for quantitative determination of mercury content in automotive materials.
