- This standard specifies the principles, reagents, instruments, sample processing, analysis steps and result calculation for the determination of thallium content in waste chemicals using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). This standard is applicable to the determination of thallium content in chemical waste residues, wastewater (liquid), waste surface treatment agents, paint residues and other waste chemicals; it can also be used to determine the thallium content in soil or sludge. The mass fraction of thallium in the tested samples ranges from 0.1 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg.
