This standard specifies the method for the determination of polyepoxysuccinic acid content in circulating cooling water using pinacyanol chloride spectrophotometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of polyepoxysuccinic acid content in circulating cooling water systems between 0.25 mg/L and 5 mg/L. The determination of high-concentration samples can be completed through appropriate dilution. This standard does not apply to the determination of polyepoxysuccinic acid content in circulating water systems containing other carboxylate ions.
