Scope

This standard specifies procedures for analyzing the results of speed trials of ships affected by the effects of the speed-power-speed relationship. This standard applies to displacement civil ships. The instruments and sea trial methods used in the speed test are not specified in this standard. Calibration instruments and commonly used sea trial methods should be approved.
