- This standard specifies avian influenza virus type-specific RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) detection technology (common to all subtypes), as well as avian influenza virus H5, H7, and H9 hemagglutinin (HA) subtypes and RT-PCR detection technology of N1 and N2 neuraminidase (NA) subtypes. This standard is applicable to the detection of avian influenza virus nucleic acids in poultry tis ues, secretions, excretions and allantoic fluid of poultry embryos.
