Scope

This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of chlorobutanol in cosmetics. This standard applies to the determination of chlorobutanol in creams, lotions, loose powders, shampoos, and lipstick cosmetics. The detection limit of this standard for chlorobutanol is 0.15 mg/kg, and the quantification limit is 0.4 mg/kg.
