- This standard specifies the method for the determination of total chromium content in cosmetics by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. This standard applies to the determination of total chromium content in cosmetics. When the sample weight was 1 g, the detection limit of flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry was 0.25 mg/kg, and the limit of quantification was 0.83 mg/kg; the detection limit of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was 0.005 mg/kg, and the limit of quantification was 0.015 mg/kg.
