Method 1 of this part of GB/T 13748 specifies the determination method of zirconium content in magnesium and magnesium alloys. Method 2 of this part specifies the method for the determination of insoluble zirconium content in magnesium alloys. Method 3 of this part specifies the determination method of soluble zirconium content in magnesium alloy. Method 1 of this part is applicable to the determination of zirconium content in magnesium and magnesium alloys. Measuring range: 0.10%~1.00%. Method 2 of this part is applicable to the determination of insoluble zirconium content in magnesium alloys. Measuring range: 0.020%~0.30%. Method 3 of this part is applicable to the determination of soluble zirconium content in magnesium alloys. Measuring range: 0.10%~1.0%. Method 3 in this part is not applicable to magnesium alloys containing lead and (or) bismuth, and magnesium alloys containing lead and (or) bismuth should be analyzed according to Appendix A. The presence of rare earths, thorium and silver in magnesium alloys does not interfere with the determination of zirconium.
