- This standard specifies the method for determining the acetate fiber content in clothing textiles using the acetic acid method in a two-component mixture composed of the following fibers: acetate fiber and protein fiber (wool, silk), cellulose fiber (cotton, linen), regenerated fiber Plain fiber (viscose), polyamide fiber, polyester fiber, polyacrylonitrile fiber and polyurethane fiber. This standard is only applicable to the quantitative analysis of acetate fiber in clothing textiles. This standard does not apply to mixtures of cellulose acetates that have had their acetyl groups removed from their surfaces.
