Scope

This standard specifies the ion chromatography method for the determination of sulfite and bisulfite content [converted by sodium sulfite (Na2SO3), the total amount is calculated as sulfur dioxide] in imported and exported cosmetics. This standard is applicable to the determination of sulfite and bisulfite content in body lotions, cleansers, shampoos, sunscreens, makeup removers, massage creams, and facial masks.
