Scope: This standard specifies a method for determining the shear stability of greases in the presence of water. It includes two methods. Method A-Wet extended working penetration test, which uses a grease standard penetration tester to measure the shear stability of grease in the presence of water. Method B - Wet drum test, which uses drum stability testing equipment to measure the shear stability of grease in the presence of water. This standard uses [SI] International System of Units units, and the values given in parentheses are for reference only.
