- This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging and storage of bellows-type steam traps (steam traps for short) that can automatically discharge condensate and prevent steam from escaping. This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of steam traps on marine steam piping systems. This type of steam trap cannot be used in systems with water hammer.
