This International Standard specifies the general requirements and physical tests for fire-resistant hoses carrying gasoline or a gasoline-ethanol mixture or diesel or a diesel-FAME mixture. Hoses with an inner diameter of up to and including 10 mm are designed for operating pressures of up to a maximum of 0.34 MPa and hoses with an inner diameter of up to 63 mm are designed for operating pressures of up to a maximum of 0.25 MPa for watercraft with a hull length of up to 24 m. It applies to hoses on small watercraft permanently installed fuel systems. It does not apply to hoses within the splash guard at the rear of the vehicle that are directly connected to an outboard motor. Specifications for non-fire-resistant fuel hoses are given in ISO 8469 [1]. Specifications for permanently installed fuel systems are contained in ISO 10088.
