This standard specifies the combustion oxidation-titration method for the determination of organic carbon in soil. This standard is applicable to the determination of organic carbon in soil, but not to the determination of organic carbon in soil contaminated by oil sludge. When the sample amount is 0.50 g, the detection limit of this standard method is 0.004%, the lower determination limit is 0.016%, and the upper determination limit is 4.00%. When the organic carbon content in the sample is high, the sampling amount can be reduced, but the minimum cannot be less than 0.050 g.
