- Meteorological measurements are necessary for numerous environmentally relevant questions, e.g. air quality, energy business, heating and air conditioning technology, building industry, transportation, urban and regional planning as well as for the purpose of controlling weather-dependent cycles. The necessary data are determined by making measurements and observations in the ground-level atmosphere but also in the higher atmospheric zone. This data include wind speed and direction, air temperature, air humidity, air pressure, precipitation, solar and terrestrial radiation, and atmospheric turbidity.
