Scope: This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of marine steam hot water tanks (hereinafter referred to as hot water tanks). This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of hot water tanks heated by saturated steam with design pressures of 0.5 MPa and 0.7 MPa in domestic freshwater piping systems on ships and marine engineering equipment.
