- Scope
- This standard specifies the principle, instrumentation, sample preparation and test report of a test method for qualitatively evaluating the bonding properties of ceramic coatings with a thickness of not more than 20 μm based on indentation cracks using a Rockwell hardness tester. This standard can also be used for evaluation The bonding performance of metal coatings is not applicable to elastic coatings on hard substrates. The test results are only applicable to similar substrates/coatings of the same thickness and comparison when the indentation load is the same.
