Scope

This standard specifies a test method for determining the largest grain size level observed (ALA grain size) on a metallographic examination surface. This standard is only applicable to microstructures containing abnormally coarse grains. Such coarse grains are too sparsely distributed to measure their grain size using the GB/T 6394-2002 standard.
