- This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for generating the ECS database, and the elements of database content, quality and update related to safe navigation. This standard provides guidance on generating and testing ECS databases. But it neither provides detailed methods and techniques for designing and developing databases, nor does it involve detailed quality management steps. The primary users of this standard are manufacturers of ECS databases. This standard is also a reference for ECS manufacturers and government regulators.
