- Scope
- This standard specifies the terminology, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of electronic voltmeters (hereinafter referred to as voltmeters). This standard applies to voltmeters as defined in 3.1.1, including the following accessories used in conjunction with these voltmeters: — voltage dividers; — resistors, inductors or capacitors connected in series with the voltmeter; — probes; — - Related accessories for calibrating voltmeters. This standard also applies to other electrical or non-electrical quantities converted into voltage values by sensors or transducers, and other electrical or non-electrical quantities are determined from the measurement of voltage values. This standard serves as the technical basis for product design, identification, production, use and testing, and is also the basis for formulating product standards for voltmeters. This standard does not apply to phase-sensitive voltmeters. For multimeters with functions of measuring resistance, voltage, current, capacitance, etc., this standard applies only to the voltage part.
